Creating Departments

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
  2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
  3. In the Organization Unit section, click Department.
    Result: The Departments window is displayed.
  4. Click Action > Add.
    Result: The Department entry window is displayed.
  1. Enter the code for and name of the new department.
  2. Enter the address information for the department.
  3. Enter or zoom to select the code of the unit head. Select DEFAULT if this field is not needed.

NOTE: The unit head is the actor(employee) in your organization who is responsible for this department, such as the director of QA if the department is QA. This field is required because it may later be used for escalation.

  1. Click the Org Unit Type drop down button and select the type of client.

  1. Click the Save button.
    Result: The new department has been added and the Department Detail is displayed.
